FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Spring Hill women's basketball team was tripped up on Thursday evening, falling 60-55 at the hands of Fort Valley State.
Jenice Adjessom led all scorers to highlight the effort, pouring in a season-high 22 behind a 9-of-13 performance from the floor.

The loss drops the Badgers to 6-13 on the season, including a 3-12 mark in SIAC action. The Wildcats have now won back-to-back games for the first time this season, with all four wins coming in league play.

Spring Hill jumped out to an early lead, forcing FVSU into eight turnovers in the game's first ten minutes. Freshman guard
Libby Geisler knocked down a triple to help the Badgers double up their hosts to close out the first quarter with a 16-8 lead.

Madison Dowling with just under a minute to play in the first half, and Dowling's layup gave the Badgers their biggest advantage of the night. Fort Valley State knocked down a triple on their final possession of the half, cutting the deficit to 11 heading into the intermission.

The Wildcats opened the second half on a 17-6 run, with a four-point play tying the game at 37 with 2:15 left in the third quarter. Two more big free throws closed out the period, with FVSU only trailing by a bucket.

The fourth quarter featured nine ties and six lead changes, but the home team moved in front for good with two minutes left in the game. The Badgers were forced to play the foul game down the stretch but ultimately were unable to prevent the Wildcats from picking up the five-point victory.

Notes and Numbers:
- Adjessom has now scored in double-figures four times in Spring Hill's last six games.
- Dowling was the only other Badger player in double-figures, and she finished just three boards shy of a double-double.
- Fort Valley State won the turnover battle by a slim 17-16 margin while outrebounding Spring Hill by a tally of 42-29.
