ALBANY, Ga. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team battled tough with the Albany State Golden Rams, but the hosting Golden Rams did just enough to hold on to a 67-62 victory over the Badgers Saturday afternoon in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action in the HPER Gym Complex.

ASU controlled the opening quarter and raced to a 13-4 advantage with 5:44 on the clock after a layup from Tiffani Goodman. The Golden Rams led by nine points with 2:25 left in the quarter, but a small rally from SHC, including a layup from
Madison Dowling with 16 seconds left, brought the score to 18-14 at the end of the period.
In the second, Spring Hill took the lead and extended to a four-point advantage when
Nicole Blanch knocked down a three with 7:29 left in the period. The lead was tied or changed six times before free throws with 23 seconds remaining from Dowling gave the Badgers another four-point lead at 36-32 at the half.
With 8:02 left in the third, SHC reached an eight-point lead after Blanch connected on a three-pointer to move the score to 42-34. Albany State rallied to take a 45-44 lead with 3:27 to go, but the lead would tie or change six times before free throws from
Jenice Adjessom put the Badgers ahead 50-28 after three quarters.
The Golden Rams tied the game early in the fourth and took the lead for good with 8:42on the clock following a layup from Paris Triplett to go up 54-53. ASU built a five-point lead before Spring Hill chopped it down to 63-62 with 1:11 left following a three from
Ta'Myla Allen. Unfortunately, Albany State used free throws to ice the game and collect a 67-62 home win.

Madison Dowling posted her first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
- Nicole Branch added 12 points to reach double figures for Spring Hill. Her 4-for-9 effort from behind the arc led the team.

Jenice Adjessom stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
- The Badgers finished 31.7 percent (20-of-63) from the floor, 36.4 percent (8-of-32) from three, and 73.7 percent (14-of-19) from the free throw line.
