CALERA, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's golf team opened its season with a third-place finish at the Montevallo Invitational.

Spring Hill (308-313-313—934) finished two spots behind the tournament winner and host, Montevallo (305-300-300—905). Union's Brooklyn Verdugo (73-75-75—223) took home medalist honors.
The Badgers were led by
Grace Denegri (79-72-76—227), who recorded a fourth-place finish individually. She carded a career-low tournament score as well as a career-low 72 during the second round.
