TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 8-seeded Spring Hill College softball team fell 9-1 to No. 5-seeded Barry in the NCAA South Regional at the Naimoli Family Softball Complex on Friday.

The Buccaneers (36-19) had a hot start and jumped ahead to a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Barry continued its run, extending its lead to 9-0 by the fifth.

Spring Hill (31-23) tried to hold off the run rule but was only able to bring a single run across the plate in the fifth.
McKenzie King hit a single into right field to bring
Amanda Glowacki home, who led SHC with a double and a run scored.

Rycca Hinton started in the circle and threw 2.2 innings with a strikeout, two hits and two runs.
Emma Curry came in relief for 1.2 innings.
Leighanna Turk sat down one batter and gave up a run on one hit in 0.2 innings.
