ATLANTA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Tuesday.
Jackson Bell and
Tom Gutermann both earned Player of the Week awards in their respective sports.
Jackson Bell, SIAC Baseball Player of the Week
Bell played a major role in the Badgers undefeated 4-0 week, highlighted by a 7-3 win over regional rival West Florida. Over the four games, Bell posted a .438 average (7-for-16) with seven runs and eight RBIs. He also contributed two doubles, a home run and a triple. Against the Argos, he led at the plate with a 2-for-3 outing, two runs, a triple and an RBI. In game one against LeMoyne-Owen, Bell went 4-for-7 with six RBIs and a homer.
Tom Gutermann, SIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Gutermann was instrumental in the Badgers' perfect 5-0 week at the SIAC Round-Up II, hosted at the Mobile Tennis Center. The junior went undefeated in singles play at the No. 1 spot, including a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep against Fort Valley State. In doubles, he won all but one match at No. 1, including two 6-0 sweeps against LeMoyne-Owen and Fort Valley State.
