Laphand broke the nine-year-old 400m dash record running a 48.52, breaking the previous record by 0.3 seconds. This performance earned him a second-place finish in the event.

"Landon broke a long-standing 400m school record from 2016," said head coach Craig McVey. "He's entering an entirely new realm of performance, he's going to go faster soon!"

JaTerralyn Hamilton continued her dominant season, setting a new personal best and earning a third-place finish in the 100m dash with a 11.61. Tiana Smith set a new personal record in the high jump with a 1.58m mark, earning her a fourth-place finish in the event.

Garrett Baldwin earned his first podium finish of the season, clearing 3.45m to earn a second-place finish in the men's pole vault.

Brayden Martin, Grant Nastasi, Blake Mitchell and Devin Singletary broke the previous 4x100m relay record set earlier this season with a blazing 41.80.

McVey said, "Our men's 4 x 100 M relay ran well. We have more room to go faster — and we will."

On the meet
"Friday and Saturday in Troy at the Doc Anderson Invitational, we had hot, windy weather. On both days there was enough wind to affect both running and field events, with winds 15-20 mph, and Saturday gusts well over 20 mph. Obviously, we're outside you have the weather to contend with. I'm really proud of how hard we competed. We had 17 personal bests from days that are more unlikely to make that possible, this was great preparation for our conference meet."

Looking ahead
"We travel to our conference meet in two weeks. It's crunch time, we need to avoid illness and continue to work hard".
