Multiple Badgers Earn SIAC Men’s Tennis Awards
ATLANTA – Tom Gutermann was named the SIAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year while John Dotson was voted SIAC Coach of the Year, the conference announced Friday. Multiple Badgers also earned all-conference awards after another successful year on the court.
 
Gutermann earned the player of the year honor for the first time in his career. The honor marks the second-straight and fourth overall for the program.
 
Along with his individual award, Gutermann took home all-conference singles and doubles nods. He went 14-6 overall and 9-1 in SIAC singles play this season. Against conference opponents, he collected four perfect sweeps at the No. 1 spot.
 
In doubles, he was 15-5 and 9-1 in conference. At No. 1, the junior swept five total games, four of which were against SIAC duos.
 
Head coach John Dotson was selected as the SIAC Coach of the Year for the first time in his career. He led the Badger men to a 14-8 season and second-straight undefeated (10-0) conference record.
 
Philip Bosman notched his second-straight all-conference singles honor. Bosman came back from an off-season injury and held on as one of the strongest players in the SIAC.
 
In singles, he went 13-6 overall and undefeated at 9-0 in conference play. He earned commanding victories over every single opponent at No. 2. In doubles, he was 13-7 and 9-1 in SIAC play. He nabbed three clean sweeps, all of which were against SIAC foes, on doubles court two.
 
Hugo Blasco Granell made up the other half of the sole all-conference doubles award for SHC. The duo of Gutermann and Blasco Granell went 13-5 overall and 7-1 in SIAC play on court No. 1. The pair collected four sweeps, three of which were against conference opponents.
