HAMMOND, La. - The Spring Hill College beach volleyball team split matches at the Lions' Den Invitational on Wednesday. The Sandy Badgers defeated McNeese State, 4-1, before falling to Southeastern, 3-2.
 
Spring Hill (5-5) started off with a strong 4-1 victory over Division-I foe McNeese State (6-3). Ashlyn Whiteside and Reagan Huff earned the first point for the Sandy Badgers on court four, 21-13, 21-6.
 
Megan Pullizano and Cassidy Granger defeated their opponents on court five, 21-15, 21-19. Brooke Borgmeyer and Jaylyne Bell's 21-16, 21-16 win on court one clinched the match for SHC.
 
Kamble Frenette and Ally Lane won their match on court four, 21-13, 15-21, 15-11.
 
The Sandy Badgers fell to Southeastern, 3-2, in their second match of the day. Whiteside and Huff again claimed the first point for SHC, 21-15, 21-14.
 
Bell and Borgmeyer took the only other point for Spring Hill in the match with an 11-21, 22-20, 15-10 win in the No. 1 spot.
