JACKSON, Tenn.- The Spring Hill College softball team clinched the series against Lane after sweeping Saturday's SIAC doubleheader at the West Tennessee Sportsplex.

Spring Hill 8, Lane 3
Leighanna Turk (W: 4-4); Autumn Phillips (L: 5-8)

Spring Hill (16-13, 12-3 SIAC) swept Lane (9-19, 5-10 SIAC) in the first two games of the series, led by an impressive day from
Rycca Hinton.
Â
Offensively, Hinton led the Badgers going 2-for-4 with two homers.
Amanda Glowacki and
Natalee Curry combined for two runs in the second to put the Badgers ahead.
Â
Bethany Ahrens extended the lead, hitting a home run in the sixth, her fifth of the season.
McKenzie King and Aherns brought the lead to 8-3 in the seventh.

Leighanna Turk (4-4) tossed her fifth complete game of the season, striking out a career-high 10 batters.

Spring Hill 10, Lane 6
Emma Curry (W: 7-4); Alyssa Moore (L: 0-1)

SHC continued their offensive momentum in the second game with 10 hits.
Â
Destiny Pierce was a triple short of the cycle going 3-5 with two RBIs. Glowacki added two hits and a walk to her total on the day.

Curry, King and Hinton capitalized off errors in the fourth to extend the SHC lead over the Dragons. Pierce, Ahrens and
Taylor Pittman got in the action to cap off scoring in the seventh.

Hinton struck out six in her 2.2 innings of work.
Emma Curry (7-4) earned the win while striking out four in her 4.1 innings.Â
