ELMWOOD, La. – The Spring Hill College beach volleyball team finished the first day of the Bayou Beach Duals with a pair of losses to (RV) Utah and Texas A&M – Kingsville at the White Sands Volleyball Courts on Friday.
 
The Sandy Badgers fell to 8-9 after the first day of play. Utah improved to 13-4 after defeating SHC, 4-1. Elizabeth Hardouin and Marissa Peck won the lone point for Spring Hill on court two, 21-10, 19-21, 15-12.
 
The Javelinas jumped to 14-4 after defeating the Sandy Badgers, 4-1. Jaylyne Bell and Brooke Borgmeyer won the top flight 21-19, 21-14.
 
SHC will finish the weekend against Texas A&M Kingsville (1:30 p.m.) and Tulane (4 p.m.) on Saturday.
