MOBILE, Ala. - The Spring Hill College Softball team completed SIAC opening weekend with a series-clinching 11-0 run-rule victory over Miles on Sunday at Murray Field.

Spring Hill (4-11, 2-1 SIAC) was able to keep Miles (1-13, 1-2 SIAC) off the scoreboard today. The Badgers earned their second shutout of the season.
Destiny Pierce opened scoring with an RBI double in the third. Later that inning,
Jesslyn Gordon brought two runs home and built the SHC lead up to 3-0.
In the fourth,
Taylor Pittman brought a pair of runs home for the Badgers with an RBI single. In the sixth,
Bethany Ahrens stepped up and hit a grand slam to complete the 11-0 run-rule win over the Golden Bears.
Pierce and Ahrens led the team with three hits each and accounted for six of SHC's 12 RBIs.
Emma Curry (2-3) pitched the complete game, tying her career high with seven strikeouts.
