YOUNGSVILLE, La. – The Spring Hill College beach volleyball team opened play at the Sugar Beach Bash with a 3-2 victory over Southeastern, 3-2 loss to UT Martin and 4-1 win against New Orleans at the Youngsville Sports Complex on Friday.
 
The Sandy Badgers (8-6) opened the weekend with a 3-2 win against Southeastern (3-8). Emma Grace Payne and Addisyn Tolbert clinched the match point for Spring Hill on court five, 22-20, 23-21.
 
UT Martin (5-5) got the better of SHC in the second match of the day. Marissa Peck and Elizabeth Hardouin took a 21-13, 21-16 win on court two to start the match.
 
Jaylyne Bell and Brooke Borgmeyer secured the only other point for the Sandy Badgers with a 25-23, 21-17 victory on court one.
 
Spring Hill finished the day with a commanding 4-1 win over New Orleans (2-13). Tolbert and Payne clinched another match point for SHC with a 21-8, 21-10 win on court five.
