JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team upset No. 3E-seeded Edward Waters, 71-62, in the opening round of the 2025 SIAC Women's Basketball Championship at the Adams-Jenkins Complex on Saturday.

The No. 6W-seeded Badgers (8-19, 6-13 SIAC) had a hot start, shooting 52 percent from the floor, 50 percent from distance and 3-of-4 at the line in the first quarter. Spring Hill led the Tigers (8-20, 6-14 SIAC) through the first 10 minutes.

Dan Presel. The Badgers scored 30 points in the paint and 15 off turnovers.

Kellyn Hunter led Spring Hill with 18 points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals. Three other Badgers,
Laurie Severe (15),
Claudia Garrido (15) and
Ella Vallas (12) recorded double-digit figures in scoring.
Marta Duda led the game with 11 rebounds and marked her 13
th game with 10-plus this season.
