ATLANTA – The Spring Hill College men's basketball team dropped its first contest of the calendar year to Morehouse, 79-75, at Forbes Arena on Thursday.

The Badgers (5-7, 3-4 SIAC) took the lead with 12 minutes left in the first half and held on through the halftime break. The Maroon Tigers (6-6, 4-1 SIAC) regained the lead early in the second half before turning it back over to Spring Hill at the 15:46 mark. Morehouse snuck up and captured the lead at the 1:51 mark, they held on to defeat SHC 79-75.

Walter Peggs Jr. led all scorers with 26 points, nine baskets made and five 3-pointers.
Steven Lyles crashed the glass and led the game with nine rebounds alongside his 19 points. Lyles also matched his career-high four 3-pointers.

" This was a hard fought game, but a disappointing loss on the road. It's hard to win when the other team shoots twice as many free throws as you do. We got to regroup and get ready for a really good Clark Atlanta team. I thought we'd get a good game from
Steven Lyles and a good game from
Luka Erdtmann and
Jayden Webley, but we've gotta be willing to get our nose dirty and get down on the ground and get after the little things better than we did today. So, we turn around and get ready for Clark Atlanta."
