MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team (2-4, 1-0 SIAC) opened SIAC play with a 62-42 win against Fort Valley State (2-4, 0-3 SIAC) at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday.
Spring Hill shot 38 percent from the floor and 83 percent from the free throw line. Fort Valley was held back by a 66 percent shooting percentage at the charity stripe.
Kellyn Hunter led the game in scoring with a career-high 28 points, 10 field goals made and five 3-pointers.
Marta Duda recorded her second double-double of the season that featured 11 points and a game-leading 14 rebounds.
Tiana Smith contributed a season-high 12 points, a pair of blocks and assists.
