Badgers Nab First Victory of the Season

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team (1-3) nabbed its first victory of the season, 78-69, against Montevallo (1-4) at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday.
 
The Badgers shot a season-high 47 percent from the floor, 45 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the free throw line. SHC also marked a season high with the 78 points scored against the Falcons.
 
Kellyn Hunter led Spring Hill in scoring with 20 points, followed closely by Marta Duda with 18. Hunter and Duda both led SHC with seven rebounds apiece. Hunter also dished out a game-leading six assists.
 
Tiana Smith and Claudia Garrido both contributed on offense with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Smith was also perfect at the free throw line, going 4-for-4. Garrido and Nicole Blanch hit three 3-pointers apiece in the victory.
