ATHENS, Ala. – Chris Brignet earned second while leading the Spring Hill College men's golf team as it closed its fall slate with a ninth-place finish at the Firehawk Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was hosted by the University of Tennessee Southern at the Canebrake Club in north Alabama.
 
Brignet shot a 1-under 71 in the opening round and a 2-under 70 in the final round for a career low 36-hole tournament score of 141. He finished tied for first through both rounds of play before missing a 12-foot eagle putt in the medalist playoff and losing to Calhoun Community College's Luke Mattox.
 
The remaining Badger lineup consisted of four freshmen. Christopher Janson (76-78) tied for 36^th in his first collegiate tournament appearance, carding a season-low 76 in the first round.
 
Kevin Kelsey (77-80) tied for 45^th, followed by Mats Sletten Larsen (82-81), who finished 55^th. Benjamin Chiasson (84-81) placed 58^th overall in his first career tournament appearance.
