MOBILE, Ala. – Spring Hill College baseball alumni Tim Hilpert ('99), Jim Murray ('67), Ernie Felago ('66) and Jason Kuehl ('00) will both be inducted into the Spring Hill College Athletic Hall of Fame on October 17 at Byrne Memorial Hall.

Tim Hilpert starred for the Badger baseball team from 1995-1998. The Mobile native and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School product started at third base for the Hill. Hilpert was a four-time All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference honoree who earned a spot on the 1997 All-Southwest Regional Team. At the time of his graduation, Tim held several SHC career records, including a career batting average of .348, 731 at-bats, 255 hits, 449 assists, 339 total bases and 209 appearances.

Jim Murray arrived on the Hill as a highly touted high school star. An All-State standout in both basketball and baseball from Elizabeth, New Jersey, it didn't take long for Murray to learn how to play at the college level. Despite his small stature at 5-10, he became a starter as a freshman on both the basketball and baseball teams. On the diamond, Murray was known for his soft hands and slick fielding ability as an infielder. Murray's approach to baseball was much like he was on the basketball court, with a determined scrappy and aggressive attitude. He was a key member of the 1965 baseball squad that took three out of four games from Tulane, who was a member of the SEC at the time.

Arriving as a freshman from New York City in the fall of 1962, it didn't take Ernie Felago long to make his mark on the Hill. By the spring, Ernie earned a starting spot in the outfield for Stan Galle's baseball squad. In Felago's first college game against highly touted Nicholls State, he scored the game-winner in the ninth inning to start his career. Known for his toughness, timely hitting and grit, legend has it Ernie once single-handedly took on the entire Tulane dugout. As a four-year starter in the outfield for the Badgers, Felago had numerous multi-hit games over his career against the likes of Florida State, Southern Miss and Troy. He was a key member of the 1965 Badger team that had the first winning record in 15 seasons, taking three out of four games from then-SEC power Tulane and splitting a four-game series with Nicholls State. Ernie's best performance that year was a three-home run game against St. Bernard College.

Jason Kuehl starred for the Spring Hill College baseball team from 1996-2000. The Wisconsin native started as a freshman and made an immediate impact as an outfielder. That year, he helped the Badgers to an appearance in the NAIA Regionals, where he hit .410 as the Hill secured a top-15 finish in the final national rankings. As a four-year starter in centerfield the Badgers, Kuehl was named to the Gulf Coast Athletic All Conference team all four years. He finished his career with the SHC career record of 159 runs scored while breaking fellow inductee Tim Hilpert's career batting average record at .355.
