MOBILE, Ala. - The Spring Hill College women's track and field team had three student-athletes earn spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District NCAA Division II Women's Track and Field/Cross Country Team, it was announced Wednesday.
Olivia Freeman,
Madeline Knightly and
Abigail Remick all earned spots for their performance in the classroom. This is the fifth-straight year that the Badgers have seen student-athletes named to the team.
Freeman, who is making her debut appearance on the all-district team, was a member of the 2021-22 SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team. The redshirt junior had back-to-back top-20 finishes in the 800m at the Southern Miss Invitational and University of Mobile Invitational. She is a health science major that held a 3.59 GPA in the classroom.
Knightly, a marketing major with a 3.5 GPA, made her debut on the all-district team. She is a three-time member of the SIAC All-Conference Cross Country and Commissioner's All-Academic Teams. The redshirt junior has made two NCAA South Region Cross Country Championship appearances. She's also had three career top-5 cross country finishes, including a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Allstate Sugar Bowl XC Festival and a runner-up finish at the SIAC Championship as a freshman. The Chicago, Ill., native has recorded eight career top-5 track finishes.
Remick, the 2023 SIAC women's pole vault champion, held a 3.79 GPA as a biology/pre-health major. The sophomore is a two-time member of the SIAC All-Conference Team. She has had four top-5 career finishes in the pole vault.
