ALBANY, Ga. – The Spring Hill College softball team finished third after falling into the elimination bracket in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Softball Championship Tournament at the Gordon Softball Complex on Wednesday.

Spring Hill (23-23, 17-2 SIAC) was sent to the elimination bracket after a 4-0 loss to the No. 1 east seed, Edward Waters (32-7, 19-3 SIAC), in 12 innings. Following the loss, the Badgers faced Tuskegee (26-18, 15-4 SIAC) in the elimination bracket, where they fell to the Golden Tigers, 4-3.
The game against Edward Waters was scoreless for all seven innings, bringing on extra innings. The Tigers struck first in the top of the 12
th inning, scoring all four of its runs. The Badgers were unable to answer and were sent to the elimination bracket to face in-state conference rival Tuskegee.
SHC got its momentum started right off the bat in the top of the first inning with two runs. Spring Hill scored another run in the top of the third before the Golden Tigers answered with four runs to take the lead in the bottom of the third. Tuskegee held on to the lead to eliminate the Badgers from the SIAC tournament.
