SHC opens fall slate with sixth-place finish at Full Moon Invitational
CALERA, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's golf team finished sixth out of eight teams at the Full Moon Invitational to open its fall schedule on Tuesday.
 
The Badgers started the tournament in seventh place with a score of 330. Spring Hill finished the tournament with its best round score in the NCAA era (304) in the second round. SHC finished sixth overall with a 66-over-par 634, two shots ahead of Union (Tenn.) and eight shots behind Shorter. Montevallo, who hosted the tournament, took home both the tournament and individual trophies. The Falcons shot a 10-over-par tournament score of 578 and Caterina Oliveri from Montevallo shot the only under-par score, 141 (-1).
 
Natalia Michas shot an 11-over-par 153 and tied for eleventh, she matched her career-low round score (75) during the second round. Olivia Leinhart tied for 26th with an 18-over-par 160 two-round score. Mary McDaniel shot a 19-over-par 161 to tie for 31st. Ella Parker tied for 34th with a tournament score of 164 (+22), while Madeline Zimmerman recorded a 24-over-par 166 and finished tied for 36th.

"The ladies made huge strides in round two after a disappointing first round. Their second round [score], 304, is the lowest score in the NCAA era. [Interim Head] Coach [John] Faggard has done a wonderful job with the ladies. They are excited to head to Hattiesburg to continue the good play."
