Men's Track & Field competes at Trills in the Hills
ATLANTA, Ga. (March 26, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's outdoor Track & Field program competed at the "Trills in the Hills" Open hosted by Emory University on Friday and Saturday, setting two more personal collegiate bests.

"Saturday was a great effort day," said SHC head coach Craig McVey. "But we finally had a day that was hard to overcome given the wind. We had some great individual efforts that unfortunately didn't translate into more personal bests."

McVey pointed to a few personal efforts as examples. "Brian Pempel continues to throw well in the javelin," he said. "He was in a tough field, so his 6th place finish is much, much better than it would appear.

"We didn't go into this meet with the idea of maxing out scoring opportunities," McVey explained," So, to finish 19th given the size of the meet [29 schools] is a plus for us, but we need to get back to work and be ready for the opportunities we have before our conference meet."

As of March 29, 2022, John Abate in High Jump and Pempel in javelin continue to lead the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic (SIAC).
