PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. (March 25, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Badgers softball team cruised to a 7-1 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory over the Miles College Golden Bears on Friday afternoon.

The Badgers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over the Golden Bears when a 1-out double by Paityn Desormeaux to right brought in Madison Koger from 1^st base in the top of the 1^st inning.

Macy Holt belted a 2-run homer in the 3^rd inning to make it 3-0 and a run in the 6^th frame was paired with a 3-run 7^th inning to close out the SHC scoring.

Koger and Desormeaux both went 2-for-4 at the plate for SHC while Alexandra Ballester (9-4) picked up the win, allowing just four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Mikaylah Harris (1-5) took the loss, giving up eight hits and a walk with one strikeout.

The Badgers (15-11; 9-3 SIAC West) will remain in Pleasant Grove tonight to finish this 3-game series with the Golden Bears (8-12-1; 5-2 SIAC West) in a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
