GULF SHORES, Ala. (February 6, 2022) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team finished play at the annual Gulf Coast Invitational with a 4-2 loss to Shorter University and a 10-2 victory over Christian Brothers University (CBU) at the Sportsplex on Sunday.
The Badgers fell 4-2 to Shorter as the Hawks rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 6
th inning.
Olivia Indorf fell to 0-2 on the year with a complete game, allowing just one earned run off six hits with a walk and three strikeouts. First baseman
Paityn Desormeaux collected two hits with a triple and two RBI.
SHC then used a six-run 1
st-inning explosion to down the CBU Buccaneers (0-4) by a 10-2 Mercy Rule decision in the tournament's final game.
Alexandra Ballester (1-1) earned the complete game win with seven hits and no walks allowed while striking out two batters.

Ashley Ortiz belted three hits with an RBI while Desormeaux added two hits and a double to her day's totals. Left fielder

The Badgers (1-3) next travel to Albertville, Ala. to participate in the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) "Chill Out" Invitational beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday versus Delta State University.
