MOBILE, Ala. (February 22, 2022) - The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's golf team opened the spring semester portion of its 2021-22 season with a thrilling playoff-hole victory at the 2022 Ram Spring Invitational hosted by the University of Mobile Monday and Tuesday at Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Club.
As a team, the Badgers shot a 25-over par score of 221 (293, 301, 295) across the par-72, 7,099-yard course to end the 3-round event tied with the Faulkner University Eagles (300, 297, 292), but successfully came out on top after one hole of a playoff round.
Sophomore
Brennan Dolnick (72, 76, 73, 221) paced the Badgers with a +5 total to tie for 7
th place of 72 golfers with teammate junior
Alex Heib (74, 73, 74).
Rasmus Malmborg (72, 73, 77, 222) shot a +6 score for a 10
th place tie with teammates
Jackson Maniscalco (72, 74, 76) and
Pete Schilli (77, 72, 73).
Brayden Seguin was 18
th with a card that read 75, 79, 73 for a +11 score of 227 and
Nicholas Couchard (77, 80, 75, 232) was tied at 36
th with a +16 that equaled
Yannik Wessel's scorecard (77, 78, 77).
Chris Brignet (81, 81, 75, 237) and
Charlie Scheipeter (83, 71, 83) tied for 47
th place with a +21 while
Jenson Finn ended the event in 63
rd place at +32 (82, 85, 81, 248).
SHC next plays on March 7-8, 2022 at the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Christian Brothers University at Irene Country Club in Memphis, Tenn.
