TAMPA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team fell on the road in the South Region Crossover to Tampa, 77-47, at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center on Friday.
 
Yolanda Nelson led the game in scoring with 16 points while shooting 4-5 from the free throw line. Freshman Iamunique Bowie contributed 11 points and led the game in rebounds with nine. The Badgers (0-1, 0-0 SIAC) had 22 points in the paint and shot 68.8% from the free throw line. In the fourth quarter, SHC was 100% (3-3) in free throws. The Badgers also had 30 rebounds while only allowing 29 from the Spartans.
 
Five players reached double digits in scoring for the Spartans. Tampa (1-0, 0-0 SSC) was led by Audrey Ramsey and Sydney Kin, who each recorded 14 points. Ramsey also had five assists and went 4-4 in free throws.

"We competed for two quarters. We had chances but we shot the ball terrible [22.2%]. We out rebounded them [30-29] but just missed to many easy baskets. This tournament is going to be a tough weekend, but I feel is a part of the process of learning and getting better each game."
