MOBILE, Ala. (September 28, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) Department of Athletics has named Joao Amaral and Airyonna Weaver as its Student-Athletes of the Week for their achievements during the week of September 20-26, 2021.

Amaral, a redshirt sophomore midfielder on the men's soccer team scored two goals in the Badgers 3-1 victory over Thomas University on Wednesday afternoon. For the season, the Lisbon, Portugal native has scored three goals with two assists in 360 minutes in seven matches.

Weaver, a true freshman middle hitter on the volleyball team, tallied 69 kills, 17 digs, and 15 (4/11) blocks in eight Badger victories this week. She is hitting .291 (117-39-268) with 138 points scored over the first 20 matches (55 sets) of her collegiate career.
