MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's golf team finished in a 5th place tie out of 8 teams at the 2021 Gulf South Conference (GSC) Women's Golf Championships held at Magnolia Grove Golf Course on Sunday and Monday.
As a team, the Badgers shot a combined score of 960 (316, 320, 324, +96) over the 5808-yard, par 72 course to finish 51 strokes behind tournament champions the University of West Georgia (298, 294, 316, 908, +44).
Freshman
Melanie Collins of Apalachicola, Fla. paced the Badgers with a 14th place tie out of 40 golfers by carding scores of 77, 78, 81 for a +20 score of 236. Supuschaya Srinchantamit of the Lee University Flames took the individual title with a +3 score of 219 (74, 73, 72).
Redshirt junior
Claire Landry of Napoleonville, La. wrote down 238 strokes for a +22 score (79, 78, 81) and 20th place. Freshmen
Mary Catherine McDaniel (79, 87, 80) of Columbus, Ga. and Bettendorf, Iowa native
Olivia Leinart (85, 80, 81) finished tied for 26th with 246 totals. Fellow freshman
Laura Goodson of Mountain Brook, Ala. came in at 37th position with a +38 tally of 254 (81, 84, 89).
