Beach moves into AVCA Quarterfinals with 3-1 win over St Leo

TAVARES, Fla. – The 2nd-seeded Spring Hill College (SHC) Sandy Badgers beach volleyball team finished out the NCAA Division II pool play portion of the 2021 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Small College Beach Championships with a 3-1 victory over the 5th-seeded Saint Leo University (SLU) Lions on Saturday afternoon at Hickory Point Beach.

3. Allison Weimer/Leanne Sorrel (SHC) def. Lina Russo/A. Fredette-Huffman (SLU) 21-11, 21-13
4. Natalie Bonner/Brooke Borgmeyer (SHC) def. Leeann Potter/Ally-Reese Williams (SLU) 22-20, 21-12
5. Linnea Beger/Kyla Shappell (SHC) def. Jeanette Henderson/Marissa Rakauskas (SLU) 21-11, 21-14
 
With the win, the Badgers (16-8) will move into the elimination bracket quarterfinals with a seeding and against an opponent yet to be determined on Sunday morning at 8 a.m. EDT.
