Men's Track & Field starts 2021 in Clinton, Miss.
CLINTON, Miss. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's outdoor Track & Field program put in a solid performance at the Mississippi College Outdoor Season Opener at James E. Parkman Track on Saturday.
All told, the women and men's teams set 16 personal-best marks as well as two school records in the pole vault.
After the meet, head coach
Craig McVey said, "It was great getting our whole program competing again. We were missing some due to non-Covid-related illnesses, but we had a great start after 52 weeks of not competing. This meet last year was our last of 2020 before everything shut down. The best thing about today was how everyone prepared to compete, how they prepared for their next event, and how everyone dealt with a wind that affected every single event in a big way all day long.
"Today isn't about singling anyone out, we'll do that next week and beyond, but we have two school records that we don't want to get lost in the shuffle. Both vaulters had solid days. Today was about our entire program making a return to competition as a team. We're looking forward to our next chapter next week."
