MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team took a second consecutive loss to the Miles College Golden Bears on Sunday afternoon with a 64-49 non-conference home verdict at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Golden Bears (2-0) led the Badgers 33-31 at halftime, but SHC went cold for the first 10 minutes of the second period, allowing Miles to build out as much as a 17-point advantage with just under 5 minutes to play.

David Daniels paced SHC with 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Badgers shot 32.3% (21-65) from the field, including a disappointing 20% (7-35 in the second half. SHC was just 11.8% (2-17) from 3-point range and an even 50% (5-10) at the free throw line. Spring Hill committed 15 turnovers against 5 steals by the Bears and were out-rebounded 46-43.
Senior Miles guard Avery Brown had 21 points with 8 assists as the Bears shot 38.7% (24-62) overall, including 26.7% (4-15) from 3-point distance. Miles lost 10 turnovers to 5 steals by the Badgers and completed 63.2% (12-19) of their free throw opportunities.
The Badgers (0-2) will host the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers (1-2) in a two-game non-conference set on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. each day in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
