MOBILE, Ala. (November 24, 2021) – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team suffered a 97-68 non-conference home loss to the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts on Wednesday night at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.

The Argonauts (5-0) jumped out to an early 13-0 lead and never looked back; running out to as much as a 34-point advantage with just over 4 minutes left in the second half.

Beril Kabamba led the Badgers with 21 points and five rebounds while David Daniels pitched in 19 points and freshman Tana Kopa came off the bench to drop in 13 points including three 3-pointers. As a team, SHC shot 42.6% (26-61) from the floor and 30.4% (7-23) from 3-point distance, but lost 22 turnovers versus 16 steals by UWF that resulted in 28 points-off-turnovers for the visitors from Pensacola.

West Florida was paced by Jackson Henningfield with 19 points off the bench as four Argos reached double-digits in scoring. UWF out-rebounded the Badger 36-31 and outscored SHC 60-24 in the paint. The Argos shot a healthy 57.7% (41-71) overall including 50% (8-16) from 3-point range.

These two teams will meet again on the UWF home court in Pensacola on February 25, 2022.
