FAIRFIELD, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's basketball team lost a 56-48 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) road decision to the Miles College Golden Bears on Thursday night at Knox-Wyndham Gymnasium.
The SIAC West Division-leading Golden Bears (20-3, 15-2 SIAC West) trailed the Badgers 29-24 at halftime and by as much as 40-31 with 13:12 left to play, but rallied over the final 10 minutes to claim a 56-48 victory in the game as well as clinch the West Division's regular season championship.

Gresyn Rogers scored 19 points as SHC shot just 28.8% (17-59) from the field and 33.3% (7-21) from 3-point range. The Badgers lost 10 turnovers to three steals by the Bears, but Miles dominated the rebounding by a 43-33 margin. The Badgers completed 87.5% (7-8) of their free throws.
Avery Brown of Miles had 19 points as the Bears shot 42.6% (23-54) overall and made 17.6% (3-17) of their shots from beyond the arc. Miles committed 16 turnovers against five steals by the Badger defense. Miles sank 63% (7-11) of their free throw opportunities on the night.
The Badgers (7-19, 6-11 SIAC West) next travel to Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday to take on the LeMoyne-Owen College Magicians (12-11; 7-9 SIAC West) in a 7:30 p.m. scheduled tip off at Bruce-Johnson Hall.
