MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team took a 64-62 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) victory over the Lane College Lady Dragons on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
The Lady Dragons (8-14; 7-8 SIAC West) led the Badgers 31-26 at halftime, but SHC rallied to tie the game at 49-49 heading into the 4
th quarter.

Tiffany Valentine of Houston, Texas recorded a double/double with 20 points and 12 rebounds while senior shooting guard
Elise Reilly drained 22 points.
As a team, the Badgers shot 46% (23-50) from the floor and 42.1% (8-19) from beyond 3-point distance. SHC lost the ball 23 times against 13 steals by the Lady Dragon defense that led to a 20-13 bulge in favor of Lane in points-off-turnovers. The Badgers knocked down 66.7% (8-12) of their free throw opportunities and rebounding between the two teams was even at 32 boards each.
The Lady Dragons were paced by Ra'keta Shelton and Cierra Brown with 15 points apiece as Lane shot 42.6% (26-61) from the field and 22.2% (2-9) from 3-point range. The Lady Dragons scored on all 10 of their free throws and lost 16 turnovers to five steals by the Badgers.
The Badgers (9-16, 8-7 SIAC West) next travel to Fairfield, Ala., to face the West Division-leading Miles College Golden Bears (15-6, 10-3 SIAC West) at Knox-Windham Gymnasium on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
