GULF SHORES, Ala. - Spring Hill College participated in the Bama Beach Bash, hosted by Alabama-Birmingham, at the Gulf Shores Golf Club over the weekend.
The Badgers finished the 54-hole event in 13th place with a total of 1,231 (381-426-424). Bethune-Cookman won the team title with a total score of 29-over 893 (297-301-295), one shot ahead of South Alabama (303-302-289-894) and UAB (311-296-296) rounded out the top three teams.
Tournament medalist honors went to Bethune-Cookman's Yudika Rodriguez, who finished the tournament at even-par 216 (73-69-74), one shot ahead of South Alabama's Julie Howland at 1-over 217 (76-74-67) and three strokes in front of UAB's Stephenie Fowler at 3-over 219 (79-72-68).
Spring Hill was led by
Claire Landry, who finished 63rd (85-98-93-276). Next was
Kayley Robinson in 65th (104-96-99-299), followed by Lauryn Herman (66th, 109-101-109-319) and
Brooke Evans (68th, 117-131-123-371).
Hannah Vines fired a team-low 83 in the opening round, but withdrew after the first 18 holes.
Spring Hill is back in action April 1-2, closing out the regular season at the Argonaut Invitational, hosted by West Florida at The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre, Fla.
