MOBILE, Ala. – The Badgers women's tennis team rebounded from a loss earlier in the day to defeat Albany State and stop a 4-match losing skid.
 
The nightcap saw the Badgers take down visiting Albany State 7-0.
 
The Badgers picked up the point in doubles play with strong showings from all three pairings.
 
Jamie Martin and Mary Grace Sullivan defeated Ana Maria Forero and Jordan Foston 6-0 while Macinley Chastain and Brenda Carrada knocked off Lindsay Ashford and Keyera McDowell 6-3.
 
The duo of Madison Artigues and Mary Roane were leading their match against the Golden Rams' Latoya Boyd and Alani Cauthier when doubles play ended.
 
The Badgers turned in a sweep in singles play.
 
Martin defeated Boyd 6-0, 6-1 while Sullivan defeated Gauthier 6-1, 6-1.
 
Artigues kept up the momentum with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 win over Forero and Roane defeated Foston 6-3, 5-7, 1-0
 
Carrada defeated Ashford 6-3, 6-1 and Chastain rounded out the victory with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Jenna Wade.
 
Prior to the afternoon's action, the Badgers lost to hometown rival The University of Mobile 8-1.
 
The Rams drew first blood in doubles play as the pairings of Emily Chang and Sina Marchione knocked off the Badgers' duo of Martin and Sullivan 8-0. Maria Toledo and Claire Travis defeated Spring Hill's Artigues and Roane 8-0. Yaroslava Pyrkh and Daniela Andrade rounded out doubles play for Mobile with an 8-3 victory over Chastain and Carrada.
 
The Badgers picked up their lone point in the contest as Chastain defeated Andrade 6-2, 6-1.
 
From there it was all Rams.
 
Chang defeated Martin 6-1, 6-0 while Toledo defeated Sullivan 6-3, 6-0.
 
Mobile picked up another win as Marchione beat Artigues 6-1, 6-2. Pyrkh defeated Roane 6-4, 6-1 and Travis collected a win over Rebecca Pearlman 6-2, 6-2.
 
The Badgers will return to the court tomorrow for the SIAC Roundup beginning at 9 AM against Fort Valley State.
