MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill Badgers dropped a match to the University of Mobile 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
Kurt Shiell picked up the lone point for Spring Hill in the match, garnering a 6-2, 7-6, 1-0 win over Mobile's Felipe Resende.
The Rams got on the board in doubles play with three straight wins.
The pairing of Boris Klingebiel and Mark Simons knocked off Spring Hill's duo of Cedric Nitz and Shiell 8-2. Lura Cirenza and Illya Filanchuk beat Alex Demel and Til Behrendt 8-2, while Resende and Guido Evangelista won over Ulf Grosaloh and Ricardo Pena 8-2.
In singles, Klingebiel beat Nitz 6-3, 6-1 and Simons defeated Grosaloh 7-5, 7-5.
The Badgers' Pena fell to the Rams' Cirenza 6-1, 6-3 while Evangelista picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win for the Rams over Behrendt.
Radek Danis rounded out the day for Mobile with a win over Chris Mines 6-4, 6-1.
The Badgers return to the court tomorrow for a contest against Fort Valley State. The match is set to start at 9 AM.
