JACKSON, Tenn. – Spring Hill College was unable to erase a 17-point first half deficit Monday night, falling on the road at Lane College, 87-71.
Gresyn Rogers and
Brandon Fischer helped pull the Badgers within three points, 26-23, with seven minutes to play, but Lane closed the first half on an 18-3 run to lead 44-27 at halftime. That lead grew as high as 23 points in the first two minutes of the second half.
David Daniels led four Badgers players in double-figure scoring with 21 points, including a basket to pull Spring Hill within 10 points, 76-66, with four minutes to play. However, Spring Hill was unable to get any closer.
Rogers followed Daniels' lead with 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds,
Christian Brandt had 15 points and Fischer finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Kendarius Ash posted a double-double 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead Lane. Daniel Hill was not far behind with 22 points, followed by Lucious Brown's 15 points and nine rebounds. Lane shot 56.5 percent in the win, including 42.9 percent from 3-point range.
Spring Hill closes the regular season with a 8-19, 4-14 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The Badgers will next travel to Birmingham for the SIAC Tournament, which begins Monday, Feb. 25. Visit TheSIAC.com for information on the SIAC Tournament.
