Montevallo, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's golf team finished with a tie for 5th place finish in a stiff Division II field of 8 teams at the Full Moon Invitational hosted by the University of Montevallo on Monday and Tuesday.
 
The Badger men shot a combined 592 (300, 292, +24) over the par-71, 6379-yard course to end the day 36 strokes behind the University of Montevallo that shot rounds of 277 and 279 to win with a final -12 score of 556.
 
For the Badgers, junior John Karcher of Detroit, MI carded a +2 score of 144 (76, 68) to finish in a tie for 10^th place out of 42 golfers while senior Hugh "Mac" Corbin of Dallas, TX finished in 19^th place at +5 (75, 72, 147).
 
Freshman Charlie Scheipeter from St. Louis, MO shot a +8 score (76, 74, 150) to tie for 22^nd  place, freshman Pete Schilli (73, 78, 158, +19) of Birmingham, AL came in tied at 25^th place, and freshman Michael Landry of LaPlace, LA, wrapped up the event for SHC in 31^st place with scores of (76, 78, 154, +12).
 
The SHC men will have three weeks to get ready for their next event when they will travel to New Orleans, LA to take on Sterling College in a non-conference match October 8-9.
