After the matches, SHC head coach Shawn Taylor was pleased with the way his team found a way to focus after a sputtering start. "We got off to a slow start today," he said. "Lincoln Memorial was ready to compete and they continue to get better. We pulled out wins at Courts 3, 4 and 5 to get the overall 3-2 win, so we are always happy to walk away with a win."

"Against Carson-Newman we were able to dictate the play at pretty much every position," he continued. "We did a great job of staying on the attack and being the aggressor. When we play that style, I like the chances of us coming out on top."

Overall, Taylor was pleased with the day's effort. "It feels great to go 2-0," he said. "We would love to finish out the weekend strong, but we'll face a good challenge from Jacksonville State early in the morning and finish out the season with Moorhead State."

The Sandy Badgers (13-8) will wrap up the 2018 season on Saturday versus the Jacksonville State University (JSU) Gamecocks (2-24) and Morehead State University (MSU) Eagles (2-9) at the Govs Beach Volleyball Complex.
