JASPER, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team under head coach
Steve Kittrell earned two more victories at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Crossover Tournament at Memorial Park on Friday with a 13-0 shutout of the Paine College (PC) Lions and a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Claflin University (CU) Panthers.
In the morning game with the Lions (0-7, 0-7 SIAC East), right fielder

Randi DeArmitt each had two hits and two RBIs as the Badgers rolled up 13 hits.
Tiffany Hughes (3-2) allowed just two hits with five strikeouts and no walks in four innings of work.
The afternoon contest with the Panthers (13-16, 6-1 SIAC East) saw the Badgers grab a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1

CU responded in the top of the 4
th inning with back-to-back solo homers to centerfield by centerfielder Chelise Morman and third baseman Jada Ames to take a 2-1 lead. SHC picked itself up off the mat in the bottom of the frame with shortstop
Hannah Fillmore delivering a one-out double down the left field line that plated Thomas and left fielder
Sarah Johnson.
Hannah Brenton (10-3) went the distance and allowed just three hits with a walk and four strikeouts while Tiaria Norman of Claflin fell to 8-8 on the year with four hits, a walk and six strikeouts.
The Badgers (15-8, 10-0 SIAC West) remain in Jasper, Ala., on Saturday to finish play at the 2018 SIAC Crossover by facing the Albany State University (ASU) Lady Rams (10-13, 7-0 SIAC East) at 10 a.m. and the Benedict College (BC) Tigers (13-6, 2-3 SIAC East) at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park.
