In a game originally scheduled for November 30, 2017, but postponed due to a broken rim during pregame warmups, Miles led by as much as 15 points with 2:21 left before halftime, but the Badgers began the hard climb back into the game early in the second half. With 9 seconds remaining, senior Badger guard Jack Morrissey tied the game at 77-77 with his fifth 3-pointer of the game, but Chris English of the Bears would break the Badgers' hearts with a long 3-pointer as the final horn sounded.

In their final year of transition into full membership of NCAA Division II, the Badgers closed the year with a 12-16 overall record and a 9-10 mark in the SIAC West while Miles will begin play in the 2018 SIAC Championship Tournament in Birmingham on Tuesday.
