MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team earned a 78-63 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division victory over the Miles College (MC) Golden Bears in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Monday evening sparked by sophomore guard
Elise Reilly's Badger season-record tying and breaking 72

Reilly hit the record-tying and breaking shots at the 4:07 and 1:28 marks of the 1
st quarter, but her night was not done as she would go to score a game-high 29 points off five 3-pointers and a 10-of-17 (.588) night overall from the floor.
The Badgers held a 22-15 lead over the Bears after the first 10 minutes, but Miles would cut the deficit down to 34-30 by halftime and 52-49 by the end of the 3
rd quarter. SHC would catch fire in the 4
th quarter, however, and outscore the visitors from Fairfield by a 26-14 margin over the final 10 minutes, including a final 12-2 run over the last four minutes of play.
Three Badgers reached double-digits in scoring as sophomore forward
Tiffany Valentine joined Reilly with 13 points and senior guard
Jewel Hill poured in 15 points. Senior forward
Angel Carthen continued to rule the paint with a game-high 12 rebounds while senior point guard
Jennifer Clark collected five assists, counting four during the Badgers' second half rally.
As a team, SHC shot 45.5% (30-66) on the night including 35.3% (6-17) from 3-point distance while limiting their turnovers to 14 against six steals by the Golden Bears. SHC connected on just 57.1% (12-21) of their attempts at the free throw line, but won the boards with a 37-34 margin in rebounding.
Jasmine Hollis scored 14 for Miles as Taylor Terry added 13 and Victoria Sutton came off the bench to contribute 10 points for the Golden Bears (6-12, 3-7 SIAC West). Miles shot 40% (20-50) from the field including 36.4% (4-11) from 3-point land. The Golden Bears made 76% (19-25) of their free throws and lost 21 turnovers to 12 steals by SHC.
The Badgers (16-6, 9-3 SIAC West) have now won nine consecutive games and take to the road for the next two games beginning on Saturday when they visit Frankfort, Ky., to meet the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobrettes (7-14, 6-7 SIAC West) at 1 p.m. (East) in the Exum Center.
