Bowling men, women both finish 6th at Peach State Classic
ATHENS, Ga. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) men's bowling team finished in 6th place of 10 teams at the annual Peach State Classic at Showtime Bowl on Saturday and Sunday while the women's team also finished in 6th place out of nine teams.
 
For the men's team, SHC toppled 5667 pins over six games on Saturday and 3024 during Baker play on Sunday to finish behind tournament champion Webber International University with 6730 on Saturday and 34442 pins on Sunday.
 
Jackson Harris downed a team-high 1223 pins and averaged a 203.83 score to finish in 17th place out of 96 bowlers. Allen Wilkerson racked up 1164 pins for a 194 average and 23rd place while Zachary Griffin tallied an even 1100 pins for a 183.33 average and 30th place. Chris McNeeley rolled to a 34th place ranking with 1093 pins and a 182.17 average as Brian Bodenheimer wrapped up the Badger event in 35th position by bagging 1087 pins for a 181.17 average.
 
The women scored 5047 pins on Saturday and 2722 pins on Sunday with Averi Laughlin finishing in 16th place of 56 bowlers with 1044 pins and a 174 average. Courtney Wagoner rolled to a 1037 total with a 172.83 average at 17th place and Anna Tankersley tallied 1018 pins for a 169.67 average in 18th place. Meghan Amador totaled a score of 985 with a 164.17 average while Caoilinn Murphy sent down 963 pins with a 160.5 average at 27th place.
 
The SHC men have now completed their regular season while the women will roll a final regular season event at the Florida A&M Rattler at Cordova Lanes in Pensacola on Friday and Saturday, January 26-27, 2018.
