Badger softball sweeps SIAC twin bill at LeMoyne-Owen
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team swept a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) double header away from the LeMoyne-Owen College Lady Magicians at Tobey Field on Saturday afternoon as the Badgers stormed to a 17-0 five-inning victory in the first game and an 8-0 six-inning win in the nightcap.
 
Sophomore Danielle Clark (19-9) threw a one-hitter for SHC in the first game allowing just one walk while striking out seven Magicians (3-15, 2-10 SIAC) as Tyler Lincoln took the loss for LOC with 18 hits allowed, four walks and a strike out. Badger freshman Baylie Doiron (5-3) allowed just three hits in the second game with one walk and 13 strike outs. Quena Johnson took the lost with 14 hits, a walk and no strike outs.
 
Badger first baseman Madeline Burchell and designated player Mary Glass both hit Grand Slam home runs in the opening contest and Burchell added a solo shot in the second game. Centerfielder Jenna Charnock collected seven hits in the twin bill, as shortstop Carmen Byrd added five hits and catcher Kali Clement had five hits with five RBI.
 
LOC shortstop Jamie Tharpe had a hit in both games including a triple in the nightcap.
 
Spring Hill (29-15; 16-2 SIAC) will wrap up this three-game series on Sunday at Tobey Field beginning at 10 a.m.
