Badgers take two conference wins at Lane
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JACKSON, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team swept an SIAC road double header from the Lane College Dragons by the scores of 10-2 and 4-0 on Friday afternoon
 
Sophomore Danielle Clark (16-7) went the distance with five hits, five walks and five strike outs while Brittany McElvain went 6.2 innings with 15 hits, three walks and no strike outs for the Dragons (13-9; 5-5 SIAC).
 
SHC turned a 1-0 lead into a 4-0 margin with a three-run outburst in the 5th inning with catcher Kali Clement getting things started with a solo home run. The Badgers used five runs in the top of the 7th inning to stretch out to a 10-0 advantage before Lane used a walk and back to back doubles in the bottom of the frame to score twice.
 
In the second game, the Badgers scored three runs in the 2nd inning followed by a single run in the 3rd and then held on as starter Baylie Doiron (4-0) finished her third shutout of the season by scattering five hits with a walk and 10 strike outs. Ericka Webster took the complete-game loss for Lane with seven hits allowed, no walks and a strike out.
 
Third baseman Rene Kausin had a double and an RBI in the night cap while center fielder Jenna Charnock collected two hits. Webster slapped two doubles for the Dragons.
 
The Badgers (25-11; 13-0 SIAC) will next visit the University of Mobile Lady Rams (19-8) for a non-conference double header on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
