Softball opens SIAC Crossover play with two wins
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JASPER, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team opened play at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Divisional Crossover Tournament with a 13-0 victory over Fort Valley State University and a 10-2 win over Claflin University on Thursday at Memorial Park.
 
Katelyn Wilson earned the victory in the first game with five innings of work with just one hit, one walk and nine strike outs while shortstop Carmen Byrd had two hits with two RBI and catcher Kali Clement blasted a Grand Slam home run in the 11-run Badger 1st inning.
 
The second game saw Danielle Clark take the win in the circle in six innings with three hits, a walk and eight strike outs. Center fielder Jenna Charnock, left fielder Savannah Woodruff and first baseman Madeline Burchell each had two hits in the game while second baseman Bayleigh Anders enjoyed a 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI.
 
Spring Hill (20-9, 8-0 SIAC) next continue play in the SIAC Crossover on Friday at 2:30 p.m. versus Benedict College.
