Box Score 2 The Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team swept an SIAC double header from the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers on Saturday at Murray Field by the scores of 8-0 and 11-0 as sophomore
Danielle Clark won the first game with a one-hitter and freshman
Baylie Doiron earned her first career no-hitter in the nightcap.

Clark (11-6) went the distance for the Badgers in the six-inning first game and did not allow a base runner until the top of the 6
th inning when she hit the leadoff batter and surrendered a seeing-eye grounder that found the hole between 1
st and 2
nd bases. She would also collect five strike outs in the contest.

Madeline Burchell's two-run single left and then added two runs in the 4
th inning off an RBI-single down the right field line by 3
rd baseman
Rene Kausin and a run-scoring grounder to short by shortstop
Carmen Byrd. The Badgers closed out the game with one out in the bottom of the 6
th frame when right fielder
Katelyn Wilson drove in Byrd with a single to center field and center fielder
Jenna Charnock scampered home off an errant throw home by the Golden Tigers (0-15, 0-2 SIAC) outfield.

Doiron (3-0) surrendered just two walks in the 3
rd inning to the Golden Tigers for the first no-no of her young career with the Badgers while striking out 10 Tigers.

Holding a 5-0 lead after two innings of play, the Badgers exploded for six runs in the 4
th inning with the outburst capped by a three-run double to left-center by pinch hitter
Sarah Johnson.

Burchell finished the day with three hits including two doubles and two RBI as Byrd and Charnock each earned two hits.

For Tuskegee, Jasmine Snyder took the opening game loss with six hits, five walks and a strike out while Acey Spence took the second loss with seven hits, 12 walks and one strike out. The lone Tiger hit of the afternoon came off the bat of center fielder Tamia O'Neal.

Spring Hill (17-9, 5-0 SIAC) will finish this three-game series versus Tuskegee with a single game on Saturday at 12 p.m. on Murray Field.
