The Life of Reilly: Badgers corral Thorobrettes, 96-54
Box Score The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's basketball team used a school-record nine 3-point buckets by freshman guard Elise Reilly to stroll to a 96-54 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) West Division victory over the Kentucky State University (KSU) Thorobrettes at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Monday evening.

Thorobrettes (9-12, 5-7 SIAC West) walked into a buzz saw versus the Badger women as SHC bounced out to an 18-8 lead after 10 minutes of play and held a commanding 42-24 lead at halftime. By the end of the 3rd quarter, Reilly had seven treys and the only question that remained with the score standing at 72-35 was if she would surpass LaSheena Nation's eight 3-pointers scored at Truett-McConnell College in November 2011.

After sitting out the first five minutes of the 4th period, Reilly returned to the court to tie the record at the 2:48 mark and then held the fans in suspense before finally draining the record setter with just 25 seconds remaining via a deep jumper from the top of the key off an assist from junior guard Jewel Hill.

Reilly also finished the night just seven points shy of the Badger single-game points scored record as she put a team season-high 39 points in the hoops off a 14-for-22 (.636) shooting night including a 9-for-14 (.643) effort from long distance. Senior center Leah Washington added 11 points and nine rebounds while senior forwards Alishia DraytonLewis and Camry Johnson along with freshman forward Katie Krout each contributed 10 points.

The Badgers shot a stellar 63.9% (39-61) from the floor including 58.8% (10-17) from 3-point land. SHC limited their turnovers to 11 against three KSU steals and also earned a 35-26 advantage in rebounding.

Brooke Wallace led KSU with 16 points and 11 rebounds as Logan Powell added 10 points for the visitors from Frankfort, Ky. The Thorobrettes shot 38.2% (21-55) overall and 23.1% (3-13) from 3-point distance. KSU also lost 17 turnovers to eight SHC steals.

Spring Hill (12-9, 7-5 SIAC West) next hosts the Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) Warhawks (5-16) in a non-conference contest on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
