Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – As is becoming a habit with the Spring Hill College (SHC) softball team, the Badgers used a late inning rally to take a 4-0 victory over the Eckerd College Tritons at the final game of the Disney Tournament on Sunday morning.
The Tritons (8-12) and the Badgers fought to scoreless draw heading into the 6
th inning, but freshman designated player
Baylie Doiron ended that steak with a two-run home run to center field for her first career collegiate dinger. First baseman
Madeline Burchell followed with a triple to right and was driven home by a single through the left side by third baseman
Rene Kausin who then scampered home off a double to left by second baseman
Bayleigh Anders.
Badger starter
Danielle Clark (10-3) allowed just two hits with a walk and three strike outs in the shutout.
Nikole Van Gennep (5-9) took the loss in 5.1 innings with two hits, four walks and three strike outs.
Spring Hill (13-6) will next play at the Gulf Shores Invitational hosted by the University of Mobile at the Sportsplex versus the Ave Maria University Gyrenes (9-3) on Friday at 1 p.m.
